Q : What is Corten steel ?
A : Corten steel is also known as atmospheric corrosion resistant steel .
As it rusts , the developing rust helps prevent further rusting and gives a lovely Patina .
This means your garden screens will last a lot longer than normal steel ( typically decades ) and look much nicer too .

A : The time it takes to rust will depend on a couple of factors : Location ( coastal or not ) and exposure to rain .
Generally speaking you will start to see a result in a couple of weeks but the patina will keep on developing for years .
Below are images of new material and and another piece that has had a week in the elements (we had a couple of days rain) .
